In the 1980s, the photographer David LaChapelle, just 17, was recruited by Andy Warhol to work at Interview magazine. The only guidance Warhol gave the teen was this: “Do whatever you want. Just make sure everybody looks good.” Since then, LaChapelle’s high-gloss, color-popping, historically-informed images have graced the pages of magazines all over the world. In LaChapelle’s first North American solo show, 150 works tell his story. —Elena Clavarino
