Beatriz González

Installation view of “Beatriz González,” 2025.

Until Feb 1, 2026
Praça da Luz, 2 - Luz, São Paulo - SP, 01120-010, Brazil

It wasn’t until recently that Beatriz González—one of the founders of modern Colombian art—was introduced to a U.S. audience. She rose to prominence for her unexpected depictions of violence, rendered in electric color. “I half close my eyes and I can see the colors of Bucaramanga, that I saw in my childhood,” González has said. “The colors of my paintings are those of the sunsets I would watch with my father.” This exhibition, coming to London following its debut in San Paulo, features more than 100 works dating from the early 1960s to the present day, many of which have never been seen outside of Colombia. —Elena Clavarino
