Barjeel—the Arabic word for “wind tower”—was built to house Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi’s enormous art collection, which includes over 1,000 pieces of modern and contemporary art. Since its founding in 2010, the museum has hosted 23 international exhibitions, many of which can be viewed in digital format online. Included in these offerings is Barjeel’s striking inaugural show, “Peripheral Vision.” In this exhibition, Arab artists explore the intricacies of Arab identity and the struggles facing their own countries and communities. —E.C.
