Adapted from Peter Shaffer’s 1979 play, and nodding to Miloš Forman’s 1984 film (starring Tom Hulce), a new six-part drama by Joe Barton and Julian Farino takes on the life, death, and music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Will Sharpe (The White Lotus; Too Much) stars as the 25-year-old genius, and Paul Bettany (WandaVision) is his fellow composer Antonio Salieri. Delightfully expletive-ridden, and touching the sublime, the story plumbs the unpredictable dynamic between Mozart, the charismatic man-child, and Salieri, his repressed and envious rival. —Paulina Prosnitz
