“Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision,” said Salvador Dalí, a father of the movement. “A Mysterious Vision” explores the continuing influence of Surrealism, which dates from 1924. Curated by Robert Zeller, the exhibition features 17 modern artists (Arghavan Khosravi, for instance, and Vincent Desiderio) alongside Surrealists such as Leonora Carrington and Giorgio de Chirico. Moving through four themed sections—The Psychic Landscape, The Psychic Interior, Non-Objective Fragments, and Uncanny Figuration—the show delves into dreamlike imagery and the bizarre beauty of the subconscious. —Carolina de Armas
