A Eulogy for Roman

Aug 8–27, 2023
59 East 59th Street, New York, NY 10022, United States

Best friends Milo and Roman always dreamed of traveling to Scotland, but Roman dies before the boys can make the trip. Milo goes on the journey, bringing Roman’s ashes in an urn. This one-man play is structured as a series of monologues, talks in which Milo tells the strangers he meets across Scotland about the boys’ life in small-town Pennsylvania. Anxious to pay appropriate homage to his friend, Milo (played and written by Brendan George) calls on the audience to help him craft a eulogy. A year after its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the acclaimed show makes its Off Broadway debut at 59E59. —Jensen Davis
