Polyculturalism—the notion that cultures are constantly in flux and influencing one another—is reflected in the music, art, and architecture that we engage with every day. This exhibition at Fridman Gallery celebrates cultural exchange and mutual influence, meanwhile challenging the fallacy of Western superiority. The curator Maty Sall, a French-Senegalese art dealer, has organized a kaleidoscopic realm of cross-pollination—all the world’s cultures refracting off of one another, shining in unison. On view are works by the artists Hilary Balu, Kokou Ferdinand Makouvia, and Laurena Fineus, among others. —Nyla Gilstrap
