The annual Winter Show at the Park Avenue Armory, now 72 years old, is widely considered the crème de la crème of America’s art, antiques, and design fairs. Indeed, its opening night party launches the city’s social season. Each year the Show raises funds for East Side House Settlement, which provides critical services and resources to over 14,000 residents of the Bronx and northern Manhattan. Spread out across the Armory space, over 70 international exhibitors present works that span 5,000 years. As for special events, highlights include Young Collectors’ Night (January 29) and Connoisseurs Night (January 30), when art and antiques experts discuss the art of collecting, paired with drinks and wine tastings. And let’s not forget Opening Night, on January 22, when visitors wear black tie and fancy dress, sip cocktails, and listen to live jazz. —Elena Clavarino
