The Winter Show is the crème de la crème of New York City’s annual art and antiques shows, with objects on view (museum quality, but definitely for sale) that are vetted by a committee of 150 experts. Throughout the show’s ten days there are panels and lectures: on January 27, for instance, there’s a discussion on “The Aesthetics of Femininity Through the Ages,” and on February 1, a discussion titled “In Defense of Ornament.” Young Collectors Night is January 30 and Young Connoisseurs is January 31. —L.J.
