A law called the Quietude Bill has been passed and it limits the speech of every citizen to just 140 words a day. That is the premise for Sam Steiner’s Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons, a play about romance and communication that premiered in 2015 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Now, how do you transfer that premise to a form that doesn’t use words in the first place? The director Ed Madden and the choreographer Kristin McNally are reimagining the play as dance theater, with an original score by Isobel Waller-Bridge. —Laura Jacobs
