The Great Nosh

June 21, 2026
10 South Street, Slip 7 New York, NY 10004

Few things bring people together quite like food, and The Great Nosh is proof. On June 22, the Jewish Food Society takes its outdoor food festival to Governor’s Island. The festival’s highlight is its lineup of unexpected New York restaurant pairings: Katz’s Deli with Santo Taco, Kabawa with Gertie, Dhamaka with Moonrise Bagels, and Sushi Noz with Malka. Celebrity chefs Gail Simmons and Pati Jinich will host the “Grandmas Tent,” a space where visitors of all ages can cook together, listen to stories, and share family recipes. And there’s more than food on the menu. Guests can explore art installations, partake in beading workshops, and sip natural wine from The Four Horsemen. In true New York fashion, the festival is also a celebration of community. As Anthony Bourdain put it, if “you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody.” —Clara Scholl
