Picasso: From the Studio

Pablo Picasso, Portrait of Marie-Thérèse Walter, 1937.

Oct 9, 2025 – Feb 22, 2026
Merrion Square West Dublin 2, Ireland

“I paint the way some people write their autobiography,” said Pablo Picasso. “The paintings, finished or not, are the pages of my journal, and as such they are valid.” Deeply connected to his creativity, Picasso forged an intimate relationship between himself and his workspace. This exhibition in Dublin frames Picasso within the context of his studios, seeing specific locations as stylistic stops in his revolutionary career. From his beginnings in Paris to his final residence—Mas Notre-Dame de Vie, in Mougins, during the 60s and 70s—these places reflect Picasso’s ever-changing personal journey as an artist, here shown through selected paintings, sculptures, photographs, and more. —Maggie Turner
