This year, the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death, has seen a euphony of global programming. To finish the year, Pace has organized an exhibition of 14 of Picasso’s sketchbooks, dating from 1900 to 1959 and addressing almost every period of his career. These will be accompanied by paintings, ceramics, photographs, and film. “I am always doing that which I cannot do,” the artist once said, “in order that I may learn how to do it.” —Elena Clavarino
