Peter and Pan: From Ancient Greece to Neverland

June 11 – Dec 11, 2019
Derech Ruppin, Jerusalem, Israel

There’s a reason that Peter Pan wears green. The Greek god Pan was associated with nature, and is even referred to as the “nature god.” The pipes he plays, like the flute with its reed, suggest the sound of the meadows, the wind, and the wood thrush. From the mythological Pan to James M. Barrie’s Peter Pan to Disney’s animated sprite—this exhibition puts Pan’s unruly persona in historical context. —L.J.
