A lauded author writes a memoir about growing up gay in the Evangelical South. But when the book is released, she’s accused of lying by the woman she claims to have been involved with. Written by Frank Winters and the Severance actress Jen Tullock, this one-woman show, performed by Tullock, presents a character who struggles to pull truth from a constructed narrative (i.e. a lie) that is protecting someone else’s life. Jared Mezzocchi directs the whirlwind production, which uses cameras, live video, and sound looping to immerse the audience in the protagonist’s fractured world. —Jeanne Malle
