David Letterman held a cherished spot on American television for more than 30 years. He began as the host of NBC’s Late Night before moving to CBS, where he became the face of its first Late Show. When he retired in 2015, Stephen Colbert took his place, and for years Letterman largely disappeared from screens. But in 2018, he made his return—and he did it with a bang. This time around, he conducted longer, more in-depth interviews with figures such as Barack Obama, George Clooney, and Kim Kardashian. The show is now returning for its sixth season, once again limited to three episodes. The featured guests are Creed’s Michael B. Jordan, Ozark’s Jason Bateman, and the YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known online as MrBeast. —Jeanne Malle
