Max Richter: In a Landscape World Tour

Streaming on Various

Since 2002’s Memoryhouse and 2004’s The Blue Notebooks, the composer Max Richter has churned out music, whether for a Black Mirror episode or for another one of his albums, almost all of which have a social or political subtext. Born in 1966 in Hamelin, Germany, the artist began his career as a member of a classical ensemble, collaborating with the likes of Philip Glass and Brian Eno. That practice has continued and evolved; just last year he performed with Tilda Swinton at Glastonbury. Richter now embarks on an enormous world tour for his latest album, In a Landscape, with assistance from the American Contemporary Music Ensemble at many of his engagements. —Zack Hauptman
