Hot Chip, one of England’s most successful electric bands, is on a world tour that makes stops in Braintree, Essex, London, New York City, Los Angeles, and Barcelona. Known for their synth pop sound, the group has the rare ability to create a feeling that’s uplifting and melancholy at the same time. Hot Chip has produced eight records; the most recent one, released last year, is called Coming On Strongerer (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition). It’s a new version of their debut album with a modified track list that includes new songs. Webster Hall, a historic New York City venue with a reputation for rowdy concerts, is hosting the band this go-around. —Henry McGrath
