Downton Abbey x Bonhams

Bell wall seen in Downton Abbey.

Until Sept 16
101 New Bond St, London W1S 1SR, United Kingdom

Can you call yourself a Downton Abbey fan if your living room’s display cases aren’t crawling with authentic memorabilia? Through September 16, the London auction house Bonhams will host an online sale of costumes, set pieces, and props from the series. Lady Mary Crawley’s wedding dress and bouquet, several of Mrs. Patmore’s cooks’ uniforms and pinafores, and a pair of white gloves worn by Thomas Barrow are among the highlights. But the top lot may be the notorious bell wall, which clattered incessantly to alert the servants to the desires and whims of their employers. (It’s estimated to go for between $6,500 and $10,000.) Those who visit London can stop into the New Bond Street showroom to see some of these items—or shall we refer to them as “historical artifacts”? —Ashley Baker
