The theater and television writer Ben Lewis has put a contemporary spin on that epic 17th-century novel by Cervantes, Don Quixote. The play is set to a flamenco guitar score played live, and the hero of this version is an 87-year-old man who enlists his mute nephew, Sandy, to help him right the wrongs in a small farm town in Scotland. They ride around on a scooter instead of a horse. Their greatest nemesis? A social worker attempting a needs assessment. The show is directed by Lewis’s longtime collaborator, Lu Kemp. —Jensen Davis
