On offer on this occasion is the rarest-of-the-rare, it being a peerless, immaculate Tom Dixon-designed “Soft” Large 10-Seat sectional Sofa, reputedly manufactured by George Smith of Northumberland, and dressed in a peerless, elegant, top-grade and sensationally-tactile woollen-boucle fabric in dark and light purple. As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this listing, Tom Dixon pieces are the epitome of modern-European furniture design and, when manufactured by George Smith (as it is believed was the case with this superb piece, and was definitely the case with a limited number of pieces during their brief period of collaboration in the mid 2000’s) are of peerless quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard. In a world of temporary pleasures, George Smith creates beautiful furniture built to last a lifetime and, being both a limited-production Tom Dixon design, and being dressed in this sublime, high-grade woollen-boucle fabric, there can be no more refined example of this modern-masterpiece than the one we have here. This piece is in superb, impeccably-maintained condition and is entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Its fine order reflects the TLC and remarkably-considerate use afforded it in the past and, aside from the odd, light mark to the fabric and frame acquired during its short-life, is as impressive and gorgeous in every regard as is possible to conceive.
