1968 Fiat Spiagetta 850 Special by Michelotti
Comprehensive restoration just completed.
The 1950s to 1970s saw the emergence of beach cars for opulent customers living on the Mediterranean coast, or yacht owners. Giovanni Michelotti based the Shellette on the Fiat 850, a design that he realized with yacht designer Phillip Schell. The Shellette which differentiated from other beach cars by a specific form, much more accomplished and very modern. This example is a rare Italian marketed version of the Shellette, badged Spiagetta.
Spiaggetta production was extremely limited and would not exceed more than 30 units.
