Founder James Fleming believed in letting the whisky do the talking. That is still Aberlour Distillery's motto today, and the Aberlour 16 Year Old speaks volumes — light, smooth, sweet, and with a long, warm, spicy finish.
A great sipping whisky bursting with sweet raisin and nutty aromas; floral, sweet plum, and oak notes; and a long warm spicy finish. Best savored neat or with just a dash of water to elevate the flavors.

The Aberlour Distillery, estd 1879, lies in the village of Aberlour in the heart of Speyside, the country’s premier whisky-making region which is renowned for producing whiskies of subtle depth and elegance. Aberlour is an historical place and its story stretches back over a thousand years. In the ancient past, a druid community lived in the valley. The druids valued oak trees and water and believed you could hear the water spirits talking to each other. Aberlour is a Gaelic word meaning ‘mouth of the chattering burn’ (stream). Water and an oak tree still feature today on the Aberlour label.

Alexander Fleming, Scottish inventor of penicillin, prescribed it as a cure for the common cold. Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
