The planned 236-acre Six Senses luxury wellness retreat in the Hudson Valley has many locals feeling very un-Zen

he first thing to understand about Six Senses Hudson Valley, the proposed luxury destination that InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has spent three and a half years seeking approval for on a 236-acre estate in the town of Clinton, New York, is that it is not a hotel. It is, the developer’s lawyers insist, a conference center. At various hearings, it has also been described as an agrarian retreat, a wellness hub, and even a camp. But as far as Warren Replansky, an attorney representing a group of locals opposed to the project, is concerned, “if it walks like a hotel and quacks like a hotel, it’s a hotel.” READ ON
