DESCRIPTION:Apr 17 - Jun 21\, 2026\nIn 1875\, Arthur Lasenby Liberty borrow
ed £2\,000 from his father-in-law to buy land on London’s famous Regent
Street\, with plans to create his own luxury emporium. The result was Lib
erty\, the six-floor department store that has served as the city’s lode
 star for textiles\, jewelry\, housewares\, and other high-end goods. Its p
rint archive spans over 45\,000 items\, and in Liberty’s in-house studio
\, designers continue to hand paint and re-work archived pieces. Many of t
he women who pioneered these designs\, however\, were never recognized. Th
e 1933 print Wiltshire Berry is one of Liberty’s most popular designs\,
and yet little is known about its maker\, the humble Mrs. Stoneley. A new
exhibition celebrates these female designers and their contributions to Li
 berty\, showcasing over 100 works—garments\, fabrics\, original designs\
 , films\, and archival photographs.
