Dia isn’t Beacon’s only treasure; there’s also this bijou of a building, a quondam library designed in 1871 by Richard Morris Hunt in the style of a Norwegian chalet. Just two dozen masked revelers will be admitted, enough (one hopes) to make some joyful noise for this bassist and basis of New York’s free-jazz scene, whose solo set will be followed by a dialogue with biographer Cisco Bradley and a duet with Poughkeepsie wind wizard Joe McPhee. —E.E.
