It began before the pandemic, an exhibition of contemporary portraits by a handful of artists. But in the midst of the pandemic, “We Used to Gather” has grown to hold the work of 50 artists in a single physical location. The works hang together salon style, a celebration of solidarity in a socially-distanced world. Exhibiting artists include Nina Chanel Abney, Tomokazu Matsuyama, and Allison Zuckerman. —E.C.
