Virgil Abloh’s mother was a seamstress. He has a degree in engineering and a masters in architecture. He interned at Fendi, where he met Kanye West, also an intern, and the two were soon collaborating. So he has interdisciplinary chops. In 2013 Abloh founded his fashion brand Off-White, and today he’s also Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of menswear. “I’m trying to stand for a generation,” he recently told GQ. This exhibition examines Abloh’s still-growing career through its defining moments. —L.J.
