DESCRIPTION:Sep 15\, 2026 - Feb 14\, 2027\nItaly hasn’t seen a major retr
ospective devoted to Vassily Kandinsky in over 25 years\, and the one now
on view at Palazzo Bonaparte\, in Rome\, is particularly timely: the Centr
e Pompidou\, temporarily closed for renovation\, has lent a generous group
of artworks from the Nina Kandinsky bequest\, pieces that would not ordin
arily travel. Over 70 paintings trace the full arc of Kandinsky’s career
\, from his early years as a Moscow lawyer through his time with the Blue
Rider group in Munich\, his Bauhaus decade\, and his late Paris period—i
 ncluding Gelb-Rot-Blau (1925) and L’Arco Nero (1912)\, two of his best-k
nown canvases. A separate focus is devoted to Gabriele Münter\, his longt
ime companion and a significant Expressionist painter in her own right\, s
hown in Italy for the first time.
