DESCRIPTION:Nov 12\, 2026 - Apr 11\, 2027\nVanessa Bell and Duncan Grant me
t in 1905 and remained close for the next 50 years. They were friends\, lo
vers\, and collaborators\, and eventually they made a home in Sussex Downs
\, at a farmhouse called Charleston\, where they painted anything that cou
 ld take paint—walls\, fireplaces\, tables\, lamps. Bell\, Virginia Woolf
’s older sister\, was at the forefront of British Post-Impressionism. Gr
ant was a brilliant painter and decorator\, and also charming\, gay\, and
famously unfaithful. Together\, they gave the Bloomsbury Group much of its
visual identity. The Tate Britain is now presenting the largest exhibitio
n ever devoted to the pair. Along with 300 works that include paintings\,
ceramics\, textiles\, and furniture\, the show is re-creating their Charle
 ston studio.
