Weightless. Celestial. Surreal. A spider’s web of near-transparent steel cables stretches loftily above the ivory-walled courtyard of K21. At a vantage point of more than 80 feet high, guests can don their hiking boots and traverse the seemingly delicate mesh, their gaze drawn towards the clear sky. Viewed from below, visitors above resemble planetary bodies, slowly meandering through the orbs and funnels of the piece. Alive with the vibrations of those who walk upon it, Tomás Saraceno’s interactive art installation, “In Orbit,” invites visitors to wander among the clouds, suspended in a liminal space between floating and falling. —Kausaur Fahimuddin
