Tin Drum, the renowned scientific art collective aiming to “elevate and expand our understanding of the world,” arrives in Brooklyn this week for the American debut of Medusa, an immersive high-tech experience. Developed in collaboration with the scientist and artist Yoyo Munk and the architect Sou Fujimoto, Medusa blends art, science, music, and technology to heighten the human senses and juxtapose the organic and man-made worlds. Visitors will be given optically transparent glasses to view striking vertical columns suspended in the air, providing what Munk describes as “a mirror through which we might see one reflection of the nature of our foundational assumptions and the consequences that have emerged from them.” It’s a reality-bending, mind-altering experience. —L.H.
