The Story of a Bear: Paddington

British Library / London

So many children have grown up with Paddington Bear. Perennially splashed in marmalade, his jam-filled exploits have taken him from attics to launderettes to birthday parties, and then, of course, home to the Browns. Original illustrations of Paddington, including clips from films and animated series, are on display in this new exhibition. A typewriter, notes, and photographs belonging to the late Michael Bond, author of the Paddington books, provides a window into Paddington’s creation. A great show for the whole family. —E.C.
