Twice a day for the past 30 years, Peter Richard Conte has been pulling out the stops of the fabled Wanamaker Organ in the Grand Court of Macy’s Philadelphia, the largest instrument of its kind on the planet earth. For Halloween, he heads off to Verizon Hall, home of The Philadelphia Orchestra, to accompany the silent Phantom of the Opera of 1925 on the hardly less ear-splitting Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ. Can’t wait to see Lon Chaney delirious at the keyboard while Conte blows off the roof. —M.G.
