In 2002, Kodwo Eshun, an English literature buff, and Anjalika Sagar, a Hindi and anthropology expert, joined forces. They created a new platform called The Otolith Group. You might recognize the term. In the human body, the otolith is a small structure in the inner ear that prevents motion sickness. In fact, equilibrium is at the center of the duo’s work. Using intersecting images and sounds from popular culture, they raise poignant social and humanitarian issues in their films, installations, and performances. This retrospective brings together several works by these Turner Prize winners. —E.C.
