The Lonely Few, a new musical by the playwright Rachel Bonds and the musician Zoe Sarnak, is set in a boring town in Kentucky. The show’s protagonist, Lila, spends her days scanning groceries at a local market and taking care of her erratic brother. Her one saving grace is her band, The Lonely Few, which performs on Friday nights. When Amy, a veteran musician, catches Lila singing onstage, a love as expansive as it is frightening develops. This premiere production sees Lauren Patten, who won a Tony for her starring role in Jagged Little Pill, in the role of Lila. —J.D.
