 ng up post-pandemic in the no man’s land between New York’s Chinatown 
 and Lower East Side. As Gasda clarified in a 2022 article for AIR MAIL\, 
 “it’s not a square\, by the way—it’s a feeling.” The Last Days o
 f Downtown\, a sequel to Zoomers and Dimes Square (the latter starring Chr
 istian Lorentzen)\, takes place across familiar Dimes Square watering hole
 s and features a familiar ensemble of “actors\, writers\, crypto guys\, 
 scene girls\, exes\, and hangers-on.” The result is something between a 
 satire and a love letter to the scene that both enthralls and suffocates i
 ts chronicler.
