The Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show has been with us since 1912. There were no shows in 1917 and 1918, or during W.W. II. In 1947, the Chelsea Flower Show bloomed once more. It is now considered the world’s supreme flower show. Sadly, the coronavirus means that another year, 2020, goes down in history as a no-show. But wait, the show will go on … online. Designers, growers, florists, and master gardners will provide video content in various formats. Some of the Great Pavilion displays will still be constructed, but at home, for video viewing. And favorite gardners and commentators will lead viewers through five days of flowers, grasses, vegetables, and shrubs, while providing answers to age-old questions of sun versus shade and wet versus dry. —L.J.
