Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, plays a central role in this British crime drama. Its stark and windy cliffs give the show a Big Little Lies eeriness that comes up against the warm and tight-knit community, and the even tighter-knit police force, that call the place home. Each season involves the force’s attempt to solve a single crime—first, the disappearance of teenage twins; next, the murder of a middle-aged dad—and each season the professional gets personal. It’s a feel-good series as much as it is a whodunnit, and a third (final) season begins filming this summer. —J.V.
