Sylvia

Australian Ballet / Melbourne / Stage

It’s 150 year since the ballet Sylvia premiered in Paris and to celebrate the occasion choreographer Stanton Welch has staged a new production for the Australians. He’s tweaked the story of Sylvia—one of huntress Diana’s chaste nymphs, suddenly softened to love by an arrow from Eros—and has developed three heroines to showcase. —L.J.

Travels to: Sydney Opera House (November 8-23, 2019).
