This show brings together six of Japan’s most renowned artists—or “stars,” as the title exclaims—Yayoi Kusama, Lee Ufan, Tatsuo Miyajima, Takashi Murakami, Yoshimoto Nara, and Hiroshi Sugimoto. Early to recent work traces the paths that led these six from Japan to international success. Key works include Ufan’s stony Relatum (1969/1982), Kusama’s Pink Boat (1992), and Murakami’s fabulous Miss Ko2 (1997). —E.C.
