There’s a reason the theme song to That ’70s Show opens with the words “Hangin’ out.” The 1970s were a time for drinking, doing drugs, snapping polaroids … hanging out. This exhibition collects 63 photographs from that decade, taken by the British model and It Girl Carinthia West. Her subjects—Anjelica Huston, Mick Jagger, Helen Mirren, Neil Young—though higher profile than their Wisconsin counterparts, were masters of the art of hanging out. Among these rare behind-the-scenes photos of life outside the limelight are several that have never been shown before. —J.V.
