Women are finally beginning to take over. In the House of Representatives a record-breaking 127 women are making their mark. And in the rooms of Gracie Mansion—the official residence of the Mayor and First Lady of New York City—works by more than 40 female artists are on exhibit, celebrating a century of female accomplishment in many media. Augusta Savage, Alice Neel, Berenice Abbot, Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler, Ana Mendieta, Cindy Sherman, and Kara Walker are among those included. —E.C.
