A Monthly Culture Matrix For the Cosmopolitan Traveler

Second Nature

Technology is taking over. Phones have become extensions of our hands, and interconnectivity is invisibly entwining us. In this eclectic mix of media, 20 artists have come together to question the relationship between humanity and technology. Lee Bul creates a series that explores the opposition between the artificial and the organic. Mandy El-Sayegh looks at body imprints and methods of identification. And Vincenzo De Cotiis creates bonsai trees and Japanese gardens, using glass to mimic water. Others on the roster include Angel Otero, Maarten Baas, Liu Wei, and Tony Oursler. —E.C.
