Due to the coronavirus, Sanctuary City was halted at the beginning of its run in March 2020. Written by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Martyna Majok, the play follows a pair of teenage immigrants as they search for safety and stability in their new country. With one recently naturalized and the other still undocumented, the duo devises a plan to ensure that they can both live freely in the United States. Returning to the stage for one month only, the play is directed by Rebecca Frecknall and was awarded the Edgerton Foundation New Play prize. —J.D.
