The terrifying results of a 2013 study at Oxford University projected that machines, by the mid 2030s, would do 35% of the work now done by humans. Artists, working in the realm of the imagination, should be comparatively safe from redundancy. But are they? What would machine-made art look like? Employing advanced coding and cutting-edge software, Rob and Nick Carter have developed a robot that paints. This exhibition—an experiment—showcases the results. —E.C.
