The artist Rayyane Tabet once said, “An encounter moves something from the first person to the third person.” And it creates a spiraling narrative that impacts the lives of both. This is what Tabet’s large-scale installations in symbolically strong materials—cement, marble, and steel—accomplish: an encounter, he continues, that’s “pushed from ‘ME’ to ‘YOU.’” For his first solo show in the U.K., eight of Tabet’s monumental works are on view. —E.C.
