Following one French Jewish family through five generations, from 1944 to today, Joshua Harmon’s newest play looks at a clan that continually questions, “Are we safe?” The play returns to themes explored in Harmon’s much-acclaimed 2012 debut, Bad Jews—Judaism in Europe versus Judaism in New York, and the impact of the Holocaust on a more recent generation of Jews. Directed by the Tony Award-winning David Cromer, the Off-Broadway premiere features an ensemble cast of Broadway veterans, including Nancy Robinette (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) and Betsy Aidem (All the Way). —J.D.
