 den treasures\, including a three-story 19th-century carriage house that w
 as recently converted into a contemporary art gallery called Slip House. T
 his summer\, the gallery is presenting “Powder\,” a group exhibition t
 hat places artworks and beauty products side by side. Curated by Joanna Fu
 \, the show explores beauty as an object of desire shaped by packaging\, f
 ormulation\, color\, and branding. Art by Cindy Sherman\, Anicka Yi\, Sara
  Yukiko\, and Anna Weyant is displayed alongside beauty brands such as Far
 a Homidi\, Anna Sui\, Kindred Black\, and OEM. But not everything is for s
 ale. The third floor is an archive of beauty artifacts\, a history that no
 ds to Lancôme of the 1970s and 1990s Lip Smackers\, Galliano-era Dior pie
 ces and Shiseido television commercials. The exhibition examines the overl
 ap between art\, commerce\, and beauty\, and asks the viewer to reconsider
  the objects they use every day.
