What do we do with our childhood games as we ascend into adulthood? Alexander Ekman welcomes us into a wondrous world where he confronts this question. Dancers cavort in cloudburst of green bouncing balls; they morph into a gallivanting herd of stags—chance and imagination are the engines of Play. Ekman’s first ballet for the company is set to an original score by Mikael Karlsson and features the stars of the Paris Opera Ballet. —Ariella Paradise
